Renascence

I walked through the darkened street

Facing vicious winds, blinding sleet

Followed just like a robotic machine

Every footprint spaced by an archine

Till I reached an obsolete boulevard

Embellished with bits of glass shard

Felt its light devour darkness in me

My heart pounded with malicious glee

Prompted me to release my inhibition

I daren't deviate from old recursion

I cannot risk with my blistered feet

For I found no footprint of an elite

Warily as I dragged ahead I stumbled

Startled I turned to see who mumbled

It rose through the illuminated path

A shadow, concealed for long it hath

Watch your step before it’s too late

It’s in your hand, changing the fate

Had you ever wondered why you follow

You could have avoided prolix sorrow

Rather dumbfounded by this criticism

For I never had a bite of erraticism

I ought to follow, I was conditioned

To succeed, can’t break my tradition

What is the kernel of success? Money

Protected life where you are a dummy

Or experiencing interminable ecstasy

Feeling alive, laced with expediency

Just trying to fit in the busy crowd

Instead proclaim new rules all aloud

Have the world our way, intelligence

Is in not holding dreams in abeyance

Instantaneously I pulled the trigger

And made my way for something bigger

I held my arms wide open and my eyes

Enlivened as I kissed the blue skies

I started on my own jaunt, undefined

Unguided, toward an ending unplanned

May fail, will never rue this burden

Emerged anew I’m reaching for heaven
