Religion or Reality
By Girish kumar
Religious strife began. We were deeply motivated. Where this turmoil began? Isn't it from the coots of the intoxicated leaders? Yes, it is. We had a plan to attract, not just the heads (leaders) but the rest (people belonging to same community). History will never forget today. As today will be the answer for many yesterdays. They insulted us, they insulted our belief. Now we came out to take our revenge. We started our hunt. Success is not our motive. Death takes us to heaven; failure makes us to reborn again. All those wounds and blood out of pain are sacrifices to my lord.
Not just the street, but the entire city had lightened up with the bones and flesh of the sinners. My sword is full of blood; still there is some more space to spill some more blood. . On my way, I, with a knife captured a house. I almost killed every men and women. I noticed there are some more tenants upstairs. I climbed stairs. There I saw a man, his eyes are so deep and he stood like a burning flame. Those fearless eyes looked at me straight. Not just me, but also my sword got trembled.
"Who are you?" I questioned him. "You can call me with whatever name you want" He replied. "Which religion you belong to?" I questioned him. "May be not the one you belong to" he answered. His arrogant answers made me to freak off. I took my sword out, to take his head off. He is neither scared nor distracted; he is just looking straight into my eyes. “Don’t you have the fear of death?" I asked him. He replied “fear is for someone who wants to live; I am done with everything, if you want and you can kill me.”You look so young “I whispered. He replied "Yes, young by age but I knew the truth, truth about this life and there is nothing behind that"."Truth! What is it?" I questioned him. "Well for what you are here, for whom you lift this sword" he questioned me back. I answered "It’s for my god". "Do you believe in god" he questioned me again. I answered "yes I do".
He: Do you believe in rebirth?
Me: Yes.
He: Do you remember which religion you belong to in your last birth.
Me: No, but....
He: What if you are born in other religion.
His questions made me speechless. He said "Try to understand there are no conflicts outside, the conflict is within you. Violence is not an answer. Your body, your knife is oozing out with blood but I could still see your god in you. I could see him everywhere. Can't you see him in the eyes of those who scared, cried, requested you to leave them alive. Can’t you see”.
I couldn’t answer his questions. I don’t know why my eyes are wet. I left that place without answering him. Roads are full of blood, dead bodies thrown here and there. I couldn’t bear this silence anymore. I shouted loudly and cried peacefully. Where is God? I couldn’t see anyone as such. I could only see trees, animals, humans etc. Instead of starting this genocide I would have lived happily with the people around me. In search of God, I lost humanity.
