Reflections In The Dark

One might not notice it in the daylight

With busy hands, sharp sounds no room for thought.

Sured steps, a clear movement, a direction already sold.

One might not stop to breath,

Pushing through the endless stream.

Too lost in the flow to let anything go.

It’s at night, dark and quiet, that one may stop to think.

With soft loaded silence that fills the ears.

Now nothing is certain, there is no way to go, no one to follow.

Stopped and still you start to chase your mind.

Running after yourself in the alleys that forever shift.

All that is found is a sense of confusion.

Swirling centuries of constricting shadows,

Pushing and pulling, tearing you apart,

A solid conviction of your splitting brain.

Lost in the labyrinth of your own mind.
