Red : The Color Love Borrowed From You

Red is your favourite colour;

So i decided to wear it like the sky wears dusk — Sofily, yet entirely.

I stitched it into my dresses,

Let it bloom in my lips like wild poppies,

And spilled it into my letters,

Sealing them with the wax of my longing:

Red is your favourite color,

So I carried it in my heart like a love-stained promise ,

Tying ribbons of it around my thoughts of you

 I braided it into my hair,

Like vines wrapping around the promise of spring;

Hoping you would see it and smile.

Red is your favorite colour,

 So I let it settle in my voice,

 Soft and sweet, like berries crushed in sunlight.

I sowed it into every glance,

Hoping it would take root in you,

 Like flowers in fertile soil.

Red is your favourite colour;

And now, it colors my dreams,

Every shade of love,

Every shade of you.
