Reality: A Story Pretty Untold

By Sambhavi Mohanty

Nowadays all the folks around the world have become too advanced to read books ……uh this is what people around us think about us. But are we really not into books or….. into reading books?  Books and reading books ; these two words make a huge difference. Folks of the gen-z era especially the 2000 to 2005 born do love books but right now are stuck in such a skeptical (social media) web that they are unable to even have a glance at those books which were once their source of entertainment and joy. But yes there is something I guess everyone would agree with is that individuals nowadays take more keen interest into nonfictional stories since most of them make us feel like it is our or their own story being narrated to them. So they do read these when played or if it pops up on their social media pages.

How about I make you feel like a character of a story once more in your life ? Then let’s start the story.

Here the protagonist just woke up from a very blissful sleep ; this is what I think because she slept too long but yes considering her sigh it doesn’t look like a good one. I guess she went through a very long overthinking session last night because this what her words convey to me. Lets dig into her words…..

“ Life is just a scripted schedule ……Waking up to that nonsensical sound of the antique alarm clock ….Oh! Sorry not that antique one anymore. Right now the Gen-z one “smart phone “ . We being lethargic dozing off again until and unless our human physical alarm clock arrives to wake us up …….uh! but yeah not anymore , again its our “ smart phone’s “ alarm snoozer waking us up. Life is not the same anymore , skip about this doomed life man, the morning itself doesn’t let us live the same nostalgia. If the morning begins with so much hustle and bustle , how do we expect that our day would be a good and exciting one? Blowing off the random thoughts and crashing back to the reality i.e, after waking up and completing our daily sanity chores is the only activity that our mind provides us stimulus for. Otherwise all other actions and activities occurring in our daily life except our daily chores is just something we are intimidated or pressurized to do so due to environmental consequences . It is something that is not under our control and is just being done for survival in this harsh and competitive world where your opponents are many and most specifically “ The great AI” but you end up competing against yourself . Coming back to the situation ……At the end of the day tired with a fully drained sense of mind , you are at bed and now your brain starts its overtiming by striking you that you didn’t do anything productive today. This is when this line really hits hard :

“ Life is indeed a scripted schedule”.
