Raven's Call

The sky loomed like an endless shadow,
gazing at me, daring me to disappear.
The abyss swallowed the light of my presence.
that’s when I wished for an apocalypse.
glad I’m an atheist, for my prayers won’t be heard.
but neither do I believe in demons.
I live in death.
So, am I turning into one?
It started with my birth, a random Thursday,
It was an eclipse dimming the world’s clarity,
shrouding my existence in a veil of shadow.
My wails of life turned into doom.
Was I cursed? Or a boon?
My life was the last shine of a decayed star.
It was a boon but broken, battered.
I hear the Ravens cawing for my death,
it calls my fear, my nightmares, my dreams.
Narrates the stories I confessed to whilst no one heard,
the hushed whispers of pity to myself.
It caws of the ugly, and dark that I refused to acknowledge.
And weeps of the pain I had put it through.
But I’m still not in terms with it.
I’m in defeat.
