R G Kar Medical Tragedy

Stethoscope around her neck

gloves on her hands

The knowledge of countless pages of anatomy

The lives she planned to save

Were outnumbered when hyenas climbed up the forte

Massacring dreams bloody on her white coat

On her way to becoming a savior

Eyes firing with a passion burning bright

Glasses clean , a ponytail high

A long day of work

Ending with a sigh

A hero in making was murdered

A girl was raped

Humanity failed that night

When the truth was draped

That 8 years of cramming

Those 36 hour shifts

If ugly death was what was written for her

Then better would have been

if with a scalpel she had slit her wrists

Those glasses always so clean

jammed into her now tired eyes

A bloody face

A defiled mind

The evidence of a crime that we couldn’t find

We live to promote equality , liberty and ideas so great

Where were we when this child was being raped ?

We promise security, support and justice for all

Ask her parents and they’ll say “its a fraud”

She isn’t with us anymore

Her tombstone will soon be covered with dirt

We will forget about her

Dismissing the purpose of her birth

And running free we shall find

pack of hyenas on this land

And running free we shall find

The ugly creation of man .
