Quicksand

Quicksand

I fight and get sucked in a little deeper

I dig my feet in standing still and go nowhere

I reach for help and get pulled in a little closer

I never should have gone near to begin, but here I am

Trapped in this bottomless pit of quicksand

I stand waiting for the next move

The right move

Is there a next…no

Is there a right…no

Fight and sink

Pull me closer…stop…motionless

There is no end to this

It is my grave

This push pull will continue until you loose your grip and I can no longer stand still

Leaving me slowly sinking to my last breath

I hear drowning is a peaceful way to go

So why am I fighting it so hard

Why do I refuse to give in

Why do I hope what I have is real and for it to be saved

How can I feel such a strong willed resistance to give in

Yet in the midst knowing the powerless position I posses

I should have never gone near to begin

I fight and get sucked in a little deeper

I dig my feet in standing still and go nowhere

I should have never gone near to begin

Quicksand
