I was a puppet

In the minds of some, In the lap of life,

In the hands of time.

I suffocated,

In the dreams of freedom, In the hope for more, In the search for identity.

I wished,

As I tried to be me,

As I traded time,

As I kept on trying.

I tried,

As I kept on failing,

As I suffered in silence, As I broke a few threads.

The threads were strong, I was tired and lost,

Silly girl, they said,

puppets do not want.
