We Canadians have that in spades!

We are not boastful though.

Quietly we stand together strong.

Shoulder to shoulder.

We may look like them,

We may consume what they do,

We may even admire them just a little bit,

But we never want to BE them.

We look over that “imaginary line”

The 49^th parallel.

And thank our lucky stars

That we are NOT them.

We have a sperate identity.

One much more, gentler.

More…. Sane.

We help each other when necessary.

A stranger I need we help without hesitation.

A country in ruins we help rebuild.

We will always be Canada.

That one friend, steadfast and true.

We will always be Canada,

Strong, proud and FREE.
