Pretty Trinkets

I get attached to bed sheets

And pretty walls or old trinkets

I snuggle up to them and let go of my worries

They lend me an ear when I want to talk

And not be judged

Their silence encompasses me

And lets me start afresh

So when they get torn

Or lost

Or destroyed,

I lose a little piece of my heart,

An understanding friend

When I let them go,

I make room for another.
