Pray for Whomever Shall Feel it

Original Submission by Yahia Rihani

Compressed air filled in my chest

The blood rushing, warmth in my head

I cannot, I will not rest

With these hands, I’ll put you to bed

Choose a God and start praying

Pray for whomever shall feel it

A heavy price you will be paying

Let me feel the satisfaction with every hit

So raise your chin and bare your teeth

Pretend your courage still remains

The loudest words sound weak beneath

The weight of all your hollow claims

Fantasizing your approaching end

A matter taken into my own hands

I’m coming right around the bend

Do state your final demands

When the piper plays your song

I shall watch over your grave

You won’t be missed for very long

Pray to God your soul to save

The pressure builds beneath my skin

The engine roars, it won’t run dry

I lose myself, begin again

Another night, another lie

The silence echoes louder now

Than all the curses left unsaid

I kept my oath, I broke my vow

Yet sleep still never fills my bed

I caught my shadow wearing yours

A face I swore I’d never claim

I tore apart my own front doors

And lit myself with borrowed flame

Your name dissolves like rust and rain

A mark worn thin by passing years

You begged to live inside my brain

Now even hate has disappeared
