''One'', as per the usual norms of life, signifies an inconsequential quantity, a value which is incapable of producing an effective impact. If we minutely scrutinise almost every aspect of life which involves major decision making prowess, it is always the majority that is opted for. From the simplest of tasks, to the most revolutionary ones, an agreeable decision is made with the help of majority of people.
However, more than often, human minds fail to perceive and comprehend the power of One. One act, one deed, one individual, one life...which ultimately constitutes all the major phenomenon around us. It is the mere momentousness of that ''one'', which forms the crust for building the society, and on a larger scale, the entire world.
The above can be substantiated by taking the example of the mere formation of this world. It is absolutely unaccounted for as to the number of galaxies present in the universe. From amidst them, it is the pure miraculous act of consolidating every aspect of life within the ambit of human knowledge, into this 'one' unit, which firmly enroots my belief in the power of one. Doesn't it further enhance the prodigy that out of eight planets in the universe, only one, is chosen for the survival of life?
On a comparatively lesser magnitude, it stirs my mind how 'one' nation, out of a hundred and ninety five nations, can pave its way to world domination. If we further break it down, it is 'one' unit of people, namely the Government, who is responsible for the proper functioning of an entire nation comprising of billion of people. On disintegrating the unit, it is further reduced to a number of individuals, who, in their own capacity and authority, constitute the group. The most noted example of this would be Barack Obama, one mind who is responsible for placing the United states of America on of the most prominent positions in the world map.
If we traverse back in time on the same path, Adolf Hitler, one man, whose words and actions succeeded in bringing about a revolutionary change in the political scenario of the world, some of which is faced even today, in some parts of the world.
Neil Armstrong, one man, whose vision of doing the impossible, metamorphosed the entire structure of science and technology. Mother Teresa, a single woman, whose humanitarian views and deeds contributed to the eradication of the evils of society to such a drastic extent, again, emphasises on the Power of One. Rabindranath Tagore, one man, whose literary views have shaped the citizens of our country. There are innumerable such instances, where one individual, can be given the credit of remembrance forever.
It is no less of a marvel, how one person, or one act, or a single decision can change our lives forever. As former Miss Universe, Sushmita Sen, from our very own country states ''You don't have to change the world. You change one life, and that'll be enough'', it all reiterates how significant the touch of a person is in our lives. From mothers, individuals who do not simply perform the splendour of giving birth, but also binding the family together, to that one teacher, whose one lesson changed our perspective of life, to that one friend who is a ''friend indeed'', to that one person, we choose to spend the rest of our lives with...all revolve around the value, that is One.
As much as the number one, quantify a small amount in terms of numerical value, how can its significance be plausibly unidentified when the entire Universe, is created and bound by that One enigmatic power?
