Plight Of Raghu

By Ashwin E

Raghu was shopping in a shop near his home. He is a Dance tutor, he used to teach children and young people and Earn from it. But as pandemic occurred , classes and programs were dropped for a long time. Shopkeeper keeps packing the items in the bag. Raghu requested him that he will repay some amount later.

" Restriction will still be continued, Gyms, Tution classes, Art and Dance classes will still be discontinued for the time being". Raghu's heart dropped. Apparent shock runned through his body as he heard it from the TV from a nearby shop. "What will I do? How will I live like this?". Thousand thoughts rushed through his mind. He was tired and numb by this point. Being the only breadwinner of his family he was feeling helpless than ever before. The debt was in his hands and he was getting more depressed day by day. Suddenly his small phone rang and he answered," Come home Dad "

That day he returned home at night. His daughter was studying and his wife was doing chores in the kitchen. They welcomed him back home and treated him with a smile. He couldn't sleep that night. He felt like his whole life was crashing. He didn't cry, he wasn't feeling himself.

Next day he went to his office after months. He was going through his Photos and medals he won during his school and college. He also looks across the photos of his students that won national and state cultural competitions. 'How better was my life before' Raghu thought to himself. He was reminiscing about the good old times sitting in his dusty office sadly. He felt deep pain in his mind and soul. He opened the wardrobe in his office and there were these dusty dance costumes that he wore during the cultural fest. He looked for a cloth in his wardrobe.

After a Weeks of his father's Demise, Teena has not yet recovered from the loss. On the TV flashed a news channel- " Some restrictions have been lifted. art and dance classes, gyms, tutions can proceed with Safety protocols ". Teena felt sadder hearing it. She thought " I wish my father lived now" looking at Raghu's Photo on the wall.
