“Beyond Everything, Love Was Destined”

By Divyashree R

They walked side-by-side as friends, holding a

truth they never spoke. Fate kept them apart,

never giving their love a place to belong and this

poem is the story of how their souls stayed

woven, where love never dies.

Kama - The First Sight

When I looked at you,

my breath trembled,

a soft gulp caught in my throat.

My lips curled inward,

as my teeth grazed the tip of my finger.

My eyes dove deep,

into the endless depth of you.

Happiness filled inside me,

gently lifting a smile on my face;

I felt shy,

though my confidence kept rising within me.

The desire for happiness was all I could feel,

I desperately wanted to pull you towards me

and whisper in your ear,

“you’re mine... I love you.”

Krodha - The Reality

The fire in me raged,

when I saw your love

resting in another’s palms.

I cried in a corner of my room,

tears flooding, yet I couldn’t cry;

I couldn’t convince myself.

Accepting it felt impossible; my chest tightened,

I could barely breathe.

I was broken, all my thoughts shattered,

anger rushing through me,

scared...

scared of losing you.

I slapped myself, screamed within,

where only silence listened.

Then I slowly gathered the pieces of my heart,

smiling as if nothing had cracked within.

Lobha - The Greed

My greed was my subconscious;

you were everything

the pulse that kept my world alive.

I held your hands by the shore,

lay on your lap,

challenged the stars above

but even the universe

couldn’t rival you.

Hand in hand,

we walked together,

lived together.

You took care of me,

you kissed me,

wrapped me in your arms,

smiled at me

and told me never to leave.

Moha - The Delusion

Days passed,

and attachment grew, more and more.

I shivered, I cried,

I startled, turned dumb.

My thoughts were you,

your imagination in all I did.

I was possessed by you,

as a soul is bound to the body.

All I wanted was you by my side

to hold your hand,

walk beside you,

hug you, tease you;

to be the reason for your happiness,

your sadness,

your tears.

Mada - The Madness

When I lost you,

I felt heavy inside

broken, I couldn’t breathe.

My body trembled,

my knees hit the ground.

I hit the walls, bit my skin,

pulled my hair in rage.

I wanted to ask you

Why are you leaving me?

You were the only one

who could calm me,

who made me feel safe.

I screamed your name

harder, louder until my voice faded,

and I cried until I lost consciousness.

Matsara - The Jealousy

I saw the truth

we were never meant to be.

Yet my heart still chose you,

again and again.

Jealous

of not sending you good-morning messages,

of not sharing my food pictures,

of not caring for you.

Jealous, jealous of you,

and the love I couldn’t feel.

Yet I know,

this jealousy only reminds me

that my love never dies

it stays, forever, ever with you.

Premah - Final Breath

With time it may seem to end, yet it never fades

every phase becomes a step shaping you into

the ocean of love, where pain softens into waves

and you remain calm, holding immense love and

quiet happiness.

Beyond the horizon of our knowledge, actions,

behaviours, and reactions, there is always a love

no one can ever fully understand.
