Why did I love again,

When I was never treated right?

Why did I trust again,

Even after being betrayed several times?

I was doing just fine back then,

Just fine to exist and not feel sad;

Just fine to start it all again;

Just fine with being alone.

And there you are….

You were like a photon to my darkness.

I was satisfied with the darkness,

But you showed me light.

A light I never dared to face.

I was scared to come out of my darkness,

But I did because of your light;

The light that opened my eyes to a new world.

I slowly drowned into you….

Into the world that I never saw without your light.

But now, how can you take it?

How can you extinguish the light you once gave me?

A light that showed me a world,

A world I wanted to live in and not just exist.

There u are, still as bright as ever;

At least to my eyes, you are always a light.

A light that’s now not mine, never was mine.

Left me in the darkness;

A darkness I was once okay with

Now it’s a void because my light is not here anymore.
