Phoenix

By Tanushree Kar

She was a phoenix

burried in a castle.

Her ashes lay in the dark.

Gone unwatched by the Royals.

The dust which gets stepped by them,

beholded the reminiscence of an ancient being.

Fierce and burning with fire

With amber glazing through her wings.

Her devotion was long forgotten.

Leaving behind the stories left untold.

Her existence was merely bounded to her form

Not to the kingdoms she mold.

On the 25th day of the 50th decade

Her relentless pursuit will rise again.

Reminding the world of her throbbing heart—

Ruling every continent and terrain.
