Philanderer

By Manish Singh A

So, you think you can seduce any woman?

So, you think your flamboyance can make

A committed-woman fall in love with you?

So, you think that you can have a little dance

And create room for another seducing chance?

Are you a man of sheer confidence

Or are you a man lacking positive influence?

Are you extraordinarily stupid and jobless

Or are you unsympathetic and emotionless?

What are your true intentions?

What’s your purpose in life?

Where do you come from?

Where do you ought to go?

You say that you are another Casanova?

I say that you are a modern-day womanizer.

So, tell me now, mindfully and thoughtfully,

When this rain of love or lust disappears,

And you go back to nothingness

And feel the personal destruction

And demolition of your growing reputation,

Will you blame the sorrowful tears

On the ashes and saw dust

Of what’s been gone?

Or of what’s still present?
