Periphery
By Saptak Dutta
Missing that serene face about to bloom As I wake up to another bland morning, The cacophony inside my head reminds me Every end is indeed a new beginning. Gone are the days when I recall You used to paint the butterflies inside me, With your fingers on the soft rainbow All the yearning in your eyes I could see.
Now I'm left alone in my dejected crib With scattered fragments of a lost memory Who cares if the moon plopped from the sky When I'm barely holding on to the periphery.
