Periods

I ask myself every month, 

Why a girl? 

Why not a boy? 

Or possibly, why not both of us? 

Every month, a girl suffers with

Physical pain, cramps, 

Emotional problems, PMS, 

Hormonal changes, etc. etc. 

 Those problems, 

Are sometimes recognized as drama. 

The drama which kills her,

every month! 

The drama which helps to reproduce, 

A whole new human being! 

The drama in which 

The tissues of your uterus fall off, 

You have a bloody vagina, 

At least for 3 days! 

Is it still a drama? 

I know this won't change, 

It can't pass on to a man. 

Yet, every month I ask, 

Why a girl? 

Why not a boy? 

Or possibly, why not both of us?
