Perfect Day
By Suraj Chavda
You know, there is this "Perfect day". It starts with seeing you sleep like a baby right next to me when I first open my eyes. Then, just as a spontaneous reaction to your overflowing cuteness, I can't help but kiss you; strong enough so that you can sense the kiss but gentle enough to not wake you up either.
Time flies by, and I keep gazing at my sleeping beauty. I want to make you feel special, and so I decided to surprise you with some delicious breakfast. It's time for you to get up, and as you leave the bed, I ask, "What should we have for breakfast today?" (Little do you know, breakfast is already ready and waiting to be served).
You take your sweet time and we decide on some options while you get ready and head towards the kitchen. I can't help but smile as I reveal the surprise to you. The glow on your face, your smile, your excitement just makes me feel on top of the world. I wish I had a job where I just needed to make you feel special all the time.
I am pretty sure I would be the richest man ever. Not because it would be easy, but because I would love to do it. Hours slip by. There are these small special moments-getting cosy, sitting tight, watching TV, listening to music, dancing to some nice soothing numbers, of course, with your feet resting on mine, probably closer.
We cook together, do the dishes, clean up, and all this while I can't resist being naughty and keeping my hands off you.
It's not my fault really. Blame God, if you will, for his splendid creation! The day comes to an end. Dinner is made special with scented candlelight and soft music, saving electricity and fuelling romance at the same time.
As we wind up dinner, it's already time to sleep. We simply lay beside each other, very close, almost inseparable. As I look into your eyes, I feel a strong urge to touch your lips with mine, almost as if your eyes are commanding me to do so, and I happily oblige. As our lips unite, our eyes close.
I can feel your love. It's the most amazing feeling there is, and you ignite it even more with your touch. We are so lost in each other that we don't even notice when we doze off. The sun rises and you know, there is this "Perfect day" again.
