Peace- Never To Be

Peace? It’s an icy cold blanket.
It’ll gently lay on your shoulders,
And encase you with its miserable embrace.
Life gets stranger,
And the thought of death gets easier.
Nobody knows what time holds.
Hoping to grasp another word,
And you’re succumbed to the cold.
With intimacy, cries and smiles so sweet.
Those perfect hazel eyes, you try to press repeat.
But now-
Look into the mirror, what do you see?
The empty stares of struggles.
When will all of this cease?
Heart’s shattered into irretrievable pieces
And you remember thinking: “Who’s going to save me?”
Now they’re digging the dirt,
Crying, along with loud sounds of bloodshed fill the air.
You lay six feet under, pushing up the daises.
The skies turn grey as you breathe your last,
You say, “My spirit was born to sleep”.
Maybe this is peace,
Or maybe it was never meant to be.
