“Peace”

By Sahana D S

The waves shimmered in the sea,

The trees danced with the breeze.

The houses were abandoned; which meant peace

the sun's rays were high and hot

But the boats still trot.

Little crabs travel using the sea,

this is where I should be.

Many creatures call this place home,

Oh, how I wish I was one of them too.

Embrace me; take me to peace.

The waves shimmered like diamonds in a mine

The wind was cool and slow

a faint blow

I walked through the grains called sand

Kids were playing

My hair was swaying.

Is this peace?

I jumped in; a cold embrace

I felt joy in its purest form

I felt my yearning was gone

I floated with the waves

This is peace in its finest form.
