Introduction:

"Man, insecurities got a hold of me. Like, loyalty. Trust nobody. Analytical. I think too deep. Stay up all night. Just lose sleep. Damn."

The Struggle with Trust and Relationships:

"And why do I feel so defensive? Cold. No expression. Won't show affection. I was never controlling and jealous or overprotective. Guess my exes messed me up and I hold it against them. Yeah, my girl's laying next to me. I'm wide awake just staring at her. She dead asleep. I'm thinking this the most beautiful girl I ever seen. But I left her 'cause the pressure get the best of me and it hurts. But that's the way life works. Tears running down my face and they taste like her. And it tortures me to picture her happy with somebody else. But it felt like only one I could trust was myself."

The Burden of Paranoia:

"No disrespect. Girl, I love you to death. But I never trust anyone 100%. Nowadays, it's hard enough to trust new friends. Try to holler at your girl while you stuck in the pen. See, life's like Russian roulette with a gun to my head. And nobody got no respect. Just me against the world, baby. How must I forget? A melody that if I ever be stuck in my head, I can't shake it. Heart on my sleeve, I can't fake it. So much going on in my mind, I just can't say it. Hand shaking, pacing, can't stand patient 'cause paranoia got me on a leash and I can't break it. Ass naked standing alone in a pitch black basement trying to decipher these voices and put them in translation. I can't take this. Losing my mind, y'all. Lick the bottles empty. Drugs all gone. And the more successful I get, the more they envy me. I can taste it. I feel the forced energy. Your own boys will backstab you out of pure jealousy. 'Cause sometimes your best friends are your worst enemies."

The Story and Conclusion:

"A wise man once told me, 'Love could cure anything.' I was inspired by the words that he said to me. He said, 'My wife is my world. She's my everything.' High school lover has been his girl since the 70s. Two children, gorgeous as anything. They had that pure chemistry. He swore they were meant to be. But then he found her cheating with his boy in his bedroom. He caught her buck naked. All she wore was his wedding ring. He blamed himself. Insecure, feeling empathy. Put a gun to his head and said, 'I'm sorry for everything.' Bang. And that story affected me. So never will I let a [person] get the best of me. See, that's why I left my girl. Figured she was cheating on me. Plus, she was acting different, you know? Thought she was probably just bored of me. Maybe she wasn't. Maybe I lost a good girl and it was all just me. Insecurities got a hold of me."
