पर्वत और बादल का रिश्ता

आज फिर बादल पर्वतों को चिढ़ा रहे थे

बात कुछ खास नहीं थी पर जाने क्यों

छूकर उनकी चोटियों को फिर दूर जा रहे थे ।

निर्मोही उनको पाकर

पर्वत अकुला रहे थे ।

तड़प थी, प्यास थी

बादल आते ही बरसेंगे

ज्येष्ठ का महीना लगा था

तभी से तो यह आस थी।

बीते दिवस भी यही हुआ था

और आज भी वही बात थी।

जाने क्यों बादल पर्वतों को चिढ़ा रहे थे

छूकर उनकी चोटियों को

अनायास दूर जा रहे थे।

काले घुमड़ते, मंडराते बादल

हमको जादुई स्पर्श देकर जाएँगे !

छन-छन बारिश की बूँदें हम पर बरसाएँगे

तब हरियाली से झोली हमारी भर जाएगी।

मूसलाधार वर्षा इन बादलों से

हमारी बाहों में झर-झर झरते

झरनों का सुमधुर संगीत सुनाएगी ।

हम पर्वतों की ठहरी, शांत माटी पर

जल की बूँदें बरसाएगी।

ओह! सौंधी-सौंधी महक का उपहार

हवा भी हमसे लेती जाएगी।

बरसा कर अमृत तुल्य जल

नभ पर छाए तुम बादल चंचल

वनस्पति, धन-धान्य से संपूर्ण

हमें कर जाओगे।

परन्तु बादलों फिर क्यों आज

मात्र तुम छूकर यों चले जाओगे?

कब बरसोगे

कब तृप्त हमें कर पाओगे?

हरियाली से कब तुम हमें सजाओगे?

पहुँची गुहार बादलों-बिजली तक

बिजली कड़की और उन्हें फटकारा तब

विनती करते पर्वतों को चिढ़ाना

बादलों तुमने सीखा कब?

शर्म से हुए ज्यों बादल

पानी-पानी

खत्म हुई छेड़छाड़ सब

ख़त्म हुई कहानी।

अब थीं बस जल की बूँदें

थी हरियाली छाई ।
