they say this earth needs a balance for it to survive

pure evil and pure good

nefarious and angelic

selfishly selfless

ethically questionable and

morally gray, I stand here

going against everything I've been pushed towards,

I tip the scales in your favor

and accept my fate

as I give in to the dark

depraved and refined

and become a spark of light;

only in death have I found my balance
