Papa, Papa…

Papa, Papa would you kill a snow

Ball made of thick ice and thin life,

if it ever came at you, far from the dawn,

and onto your head,

shot by a kid so little he couldn't talk?

Papa, Papa would you ever kill a mockingbird?

if it mocked you like children would,

of your crooked teeth

Papa, Papa would you please smile?

for my mother's laugh.

know she sold us to a devil in a cave,

and never came to the lakeside house,

Leave our warm bodies with which we may die.

Papa, Papa would you ever kill me,

with a gunshot to my very head?

know that I may grow larger than you,

and leave you in a devil cave.
