Painfully Yours

I was told the universe often does this thing of testing the strong by putting them in the toughest of situations.

But then that completely changes the game doesn't it?

Because now I pray to be weak, to not be eligible for the universe to test me.

To not have the universe bestow all these troubles on me only to have myself take them in my stride as a badge of my strength.

Just sometimes I wish I was not strong,

that I absolutely did not have the strength to tolerate this pain so the universe would eventually stop testing me.

It takes great strength to be vulnerable, to be weak.

But just sometimes being strong becomes your vulnerability.

But all I can hope is that someday I can look back at this pain, not as a proof of my strength but as an integral part of my story.
