Own Your Baggage

A petition is filed, people march in protest

Everyone goes up to the Lord and pleads

Life is unfair, our load of problems is the heaviest

Each one complains and grieves

Lord affectionately asks us to calm down

And suggests to put our misfortunes in individual baggage

He then asks us to leave our baggage on the ground

And look through others to seek a lighter alternative

We search for days in vain 'coz all the other ones

Seem heavier as compared to our own

We eventually pick up our own baggage

And sheepishly stand aside with our heads hanging low

Lord smiles and says don't be disheartened

Highs and lows of life are inextricably entwined

But don't crave to become a body double in someone else's role

'Coz your journeys, milestones and even yardsticks are customized

Strive to be the star of your journey

Own your issues and your baggage will start feeling lighter

Faith in me will inevitably take you places

Outdo yourself by lifting your trust just a notch higher!!
