Overthinking

Silence prevails in the air,

When thoughts are so unfair.

Words fail to express the pain,

Caused by the thoughts sustained.

Maybe, I can blame my poor vocabulary,

For those unexpressed thoughts I carry.

Or maybe, I myself am too confused,

About the thoughts my mind has infused.

It feels as if everything is falling apart

When overthinking is about to start.

It even highlights some illogical ways,

And I am just it’s hypnotized prey.

Escaping from its clutches is challenging,

Because thoughts are good at enslaving.

Normal way of thinking isn’t really dangerous,

But believe me, overthinking is perilous.
