I only persist to convince myself otherwise

I bleed to convince myself

that it is worthwhile in the long run

I am confident

in hopes that I am seen as useful

and I beg for attention

just enough

to inspire some warmth to comfort me

in my loneliness

The covenant I have with convenience

shapes my longing

and my gaze

locked

on the title of what could be
