Our Love
By Nandika
I was a letter in a bottle,
floating in the sea.
I found the shore,
and you found me.
I was an alien language
but you were linguistic.
Your curiosity got the better of you.
You open my crinkled papers,
and see parts of me I hid for so long.
You laugh and you cry,
at the details of my silly, stupid life.
You said I was the best piece you’ve ever read,
I blush at your compliments,
and yet despise my anxious self.
I say that every star burns,
you say that’s the reason they shine.
The words left unsaid,
starts to flow like water.
The air also seems lighter lately.
You appear quite eccentric,
how could a perfect soul like yours,
even talk to a tainted one like mine?
—A Letter In The Bottle
(Him)
At the end of the day,
when I lie down in my bed,
I think about you.
Just a smile of yours,
makes everything brighter.
Even better.
Like the nature praises the lord,
because they met her.
Your wheezing, your teasing,
your rude comments, your amiable comments,
your anger, your rants.
But when I lie in my bed,
and think about happiness,
All I can see is your smile.
Maybe I’m simply smitten by your energy.
And the way you love?
Like sunshine on a cold day.
Like a perfect vacation far away.
My favourite piece of food I secretly hide.
A perfect ending with an even audacious ride.
At the end of the day,
when I lie in my bed,
I think about beauty.
I see a smile hiding millions of staggering stories.
A heart set out to conquer all those glories.
A skin made up of gold.
An aura of fantasies untold.
When I lie down in my bed,
I think about forever.
And I see you walking towards me.
You smile and you take my hand.
Oh my darling, we were born to attract notice.
No wave of life is enough to drown me,
as long as I got you.
—Thoughts of infinity.
