Other Side Of River

I sat here from dusk to dawn

staring at the brook all along

I smell the roses - pleasant and wild

inviting me to the other side

Brook is clear, crystal clear

revealing it's depth without fear

Assuring me that it will be alright

or challenging me to cross it tonight

Ripples rushing down the stream

laugh at me and they scream

Do you dare to cross, O human

such a pity, you are all the same

My ancestors light up the sky

showing me paths I can walk by

Far away from this arrogance

Far away from this fragrance

Other side of the river is my destiny

I have to know it's inner mystery

I want to do this at any cost

Please help me before I'm lost

As long as we are here

you are never lost, don't fear

It's dark on the other side

only fools will take this ride

We will lead you back home

don't be stupid and stubborn

What if I say no?

What if I demand to go?

They roared the thunder rain

and cold winds all over the lane

I saw my distorted reflection

and have made my decision

I ain't strong enough to turn back

and regret the confidence I lack

I ain't strong enough to retreat

and be a coward accepting defeat

I am the fool moving forward

only scared to step backward

I know not if I reach the other side

but I at-least know that I have tried.
