Open Invitation

Falling for your best friend is such a cliché

It all starts with missing you a bit more when you’re away

Been there two times now, didn’t learn the lesson

It’d hurt too much to lose you, so you never hear the confession

Do you feel this too or is it just my feelings on display?

Your hugs have started to feel warmer when my head hits replay

Can’t help steal glances and look into your eyes in between conversation

If you every change your mind, i hope you know that you have an open invitation

Lately you’ve been on my mind a bit more than usual

Oh dear! I do notice the stolen glances that you try to pass off as casual

The changes you’ve made to how we spend our time alone are welcome

I think about you all night while replay your voice calling me handsome

Every time I think of making a move, I chicken out dreading your refusal

But lately, every moment spent with you is becoming increasingly sensual

Mustering up all my strength to step out of this friend-zone, regardless of the outcome

Girl, if your heart ain’t open to me, I don’t know what we’ll become
