Oorlog

Marli Loots

As jy my vel kon oopsny,

sou jy loopgrawe sien.

Die landmyne lê tussen my ribbes.

Hoe verduidelik jy vir mense,

dat jy elke dag wen en verloor,

sonder dat ʼn enkele skoot afgaan?

Ek hoor dit –

die ontploffings onder my borsbeen,

elke keer as ek asemhaal,

en ek voel hoe my hartklop

terwyl ek veg teen die ontploffings

wat net ek hoor en ervaar –

hier aan die binnekant van my bors.

Maar kyk mooi,

tussen die landmyne

wat tussen my ribbes lê,

groei daar nog steeds gras.

Dis die oorlog binne my.

Murg en been.

Waarvan niemand weet.
