Only I Can Trace

By Catherine John Kennedy

Only I Can Trace

Love is overflowing,

My ego fiercely blowing.

Eyes didn’t meet yet,

but heart is already firmly set.

No physical appearance we saw.

being ruled by the Love’s own law.

Little are the dreams we see.

We both let the world go free

stuck to the call over phone

hearing the ringtone, how brightly our eyes shone.

Begot love out of love,

flew high on our happy dove.

A question exploded the emotion

“was he right” was my only notion.

“Are you agreeing to marry me?”

Then diverging the question making it seem like a plea

I got a spark and fired him with verbal inspection

and he happily said aloud regaining my affection

“Better ask this to our kids”

Ah! He finally opened my heart’s lids,

again got into a deeper place

where none except I can trace!
