One More Chance

By Parvati Uppala

One more chance is all I would need

To show I have changed, in word and deed

Without hesitation, I would go the extra mile

To win your trust and prove my love wasn’t vile

I know, I screwed up badly and hurt you deep

I myself sowed the pain that I now reap

My selfish heart lost control and got swayed

I promise, between us, my pride won’t get laid

I will pave the roads that I once shattered

I will build the bridges that I once burned

I will paint the sky in soft shades of blue

I will rewrite our story, pure and true

Flip the pages of our memory book

To see my love for you in every look

I carry the same love now as before

Grant me a chance to show it outpour

You don’t have to forgive in just one day

Test my love to see that it won’t decay

I will face the storm, I will walk through fire

To be the man of your heart’s desire

Let me transform this hell to heaven

Treat your wounds with gentle leaven

Please don’t drift apart, leaving me destroyed

Because I won’t survive this hollow void
