One Last Call

Oh, one last call-all needed, all wanted,

But it never rings. Hoping for it to ring for the last time,

That call of mine, I wonder whose voice it might be.

All night spent, days pass by-sitting, chanting, praying.

I saw the sun waking up, making minds and lands wake again,

Breaking slumbers. But that call of mine,

It never knocks on the door, no bells are rung.

Every other child grows; laughter after laughter sometimes joins,

Sometimes cry after cry, unheard, avoided.

That cat or tiger before hunting pays hardly any attention

To the earthly pleasures; I find myself exactly the same.

Eyes never closed, pages remained unturned, abandoning all

For that last one to fall into the open hall of mine.

Sometimes it rang, but in illusion-in my vision.

I feel pity for the ones who still await

The loved ones who joined hands in war just to settle it once and for all,

But never returned.
