One fine afternoon
By Shreya Ghoshal
When I heard the wind strumming the leaves,
Playing the rocks a rock music when tickles them the tiny bees.
The entire band playing my all time favourite tunes,
dancing I as dances the wind down the sand dunes.
The sky humming a lullaby for me,
my cheeks turning red from pink with an overloaded glee.
I slept in the arms of soft cushion clouds,
So tiny they appear….
are they the long louds!???
For the first time saw them so small,
but from the ground they looked so tall!!
I could see the birds soaring around, round and round.
Above and below…
their chirruping sounds sometimes shrill and sometimes, they do whisper, slow-slow.
The dew drenched me with all its misty world,
served me a bowl of happiness and a glass of peace, very finely stirred.
Aaah…have been sheltered by the pleasure of this mellow afternoon,
is hard to accept but it itself is not that swoon.
Here, I sleep my nights with few floating candle lights.
May be…lit by my beloved ones,
as for them,
I departed from their sights.
Sometimes, I find roses and jasmines showering over my shoulders,
may be.., they too are sent by those philanthropic heart holders.
My bones feel much lighter now,
somewhat like flying ash in the air.
I wonder they’ve lost their brittleness,
my spine can roll and twist,
it can even bow.
Now, I don’t miss myself,
my life has cherished each sip of its tenure.
Now, I don’t miss myself,
it had lived its, and finished every bit of the fleshy core.
I came out of my skin to enter my flesh,
everything needs an end to start something sheer and fresh.
I can hear the whistle calling me to board the train,
my tickets were booked already,
now, I can’t pull the chain.
