One Extra Day

I just need that "one" day to clean up the mess in my phone,

Those extra festive wishes, those large files to be deleted, and emails should be gone,

They take up all the space and my phone memory gets full,

And then a message pops up "Back up to drive stopped"

I really need those 24 hours to clean up the mess in my cupboard, 

All sarees which are the last in pile need to be discovered!

I also need that one extra day to spend with my children,

They will soon fly out of their nests,

For their future needs to brighten!

God give me that one extra day to take care of my skin,

The day when I can rub and scrub, 

And I don't have to hasten!

That one extra day would be which I could spend with friends,

We would only talk and talk and pray that day never ends!! 

But then to fulfill this wish of mine God,

My friends, too would ask for one day,

 And that would be too much for you I guess...

So better at home we stay!!

I finally need that extra day,

To watch the lotuses bloom,

Which I can sit and watch for hours,

And get rid of my heart's gloom!

These wishes give me hope for life,

I hope that they sound wise,

Let it not come as a surprise, 

That I am a working housewife!
