Once Again Above All

By Ruchira Banerjee

The stars shine and dance above at night.

The dark lane shimmers with the street light.

The mundane cacophony of the day stops.

The moonlight glimmer and the human spirit drops.

Still, a human rises once again above all.

The exhaustion of the hard days never seems to end.

The sunset gives rise to a yearning for a friend.

The gloomy evening evokes a feeling of sadness.

The silence of the dark night is like madness.

Still, a human rises once again above all.

The evening hides the sun and diminishes light.

The darkness of the night throws a night fight.

The time of hardship and pain sometimes bow human courage.

The season of change also appears like a mirage.

Still, a human rises once again above all.

The dawn brings a fresh day with a new song.

The journey of this life is monotonous and quite long.

The teachings from dawn to dusk shatters hope.

The start of a life all over again gives no scope.

Still, a human rises once again above all.

The turbulence in the sea of life is scary.

The day today challenges make the eyes teary.

The impact of lost confidence makes people cynical.

Still, a human rises once again above all.

Nice poem by Miss Banerjee that depicts the struggle of a single person in the City atmosphere. Humanness rises its head again and again that gives strength to carry on the struggle in a dry city life
