On That Winter Night

The icy blue spread through her

veins,

A haunting numbness taking refuge

In her heart.

An unearthly calm enveloped her

whole being,

Her eyes still pricked with hot,

unshed tears

That minuscule realization over how

she got betrayed,

Yet again,

Sent an unconscious pang through

her core,

A dull echo in the abandoned

mutilated remnants of

her innards.

Finally, the realization of the cold

seeping in,

The inescapable reality of it all,

Made her want to succumb to her

sufferings-

The unending emptiness of the Void

Staring right at her

Her desperate longing for the end,

Away from this life where

she bartered her soul daily,

to survive.

Her calls were finally heard.

There she lay… splayed about

In the cold,

A ghost of a smile,

on her face

As Death claimed her ultimate breath,

Her body yielding to its eternal

embrace.
