Old Age

The advancing age brought you wisdom and respectability;

In turn took your youth and agility.

Wobbly walk, hearing ailments and dimness of sight;

Grand Children are only source to emotional delight.

Ailments that you previously ignored;

Now visits to doctor become more and more.

Simple things that you did effortlessly;

You now have to look at others helplessly.

‘Demon of old age’ has very foul odour;

Swallows all, irrespective of your cadre.

Elderly people must be loved with harmony;

Because getting older is a privilege denied to many.
