Oh! My Moonshine

By Naina Mishra

Always I said a lie

Saying that I was fine,

Always with a smile.

Crying every single night

Cos I was a bud that couldn't bloom,

War inside me continues so how do I fight?

Yearning to be beautiful like the cherry blossom.

Acting strong like a warrior

Didn't realize something

I was yearning badly for arrival of a saviour

One who could be loving.

Unaware that I'm still young with fears

It was troubling so much

Yet,hiding my tears

Wanting to feel the warmth of a touch.

You're my moonshine

One who bought along the love for me,

Brighter even than the sunshine

You were always there for me.

Meeting you was my fate,

Oh! My dear moonshine

Thank you for the chocolate

You're brighter than the sunshine.
