The normalization of work from home doesn’t look normal now. It has been 2 years since I got on the bench, my work from the home bench, and my cubicle enunciated as my room. There are lunches and snacks times without office colleagues and friends. There are meetings happening at irregular times. There is no office buzz and bitching sessions. Virtual meetups happen at times but can't supersede hangouts and meeting hall chatters that would have happened at first hand. The emotions and vigorousness have deteriorated as the time spent on the home couch has augmented. In the middle of a Wednesday, we are waiting for the weekend. Work from home life has also evolved work for home life.

Weekends don’t strike the same way they would have when we would have been in office. Then we used to look forward to traversing the city and exploring that life and catching up on friends and trying scrumptious food, now weekends are all about getting a sound sleep.

Does this new normal feel like normal now?

The time when Deepika Padukone said, “No matter how hard we try, we’ll always miss out on some things in life. So let’s take a second, sit down and enjoy this moment we have”.

We have endured a pandemic and in fact, we are weathering in this widespread epidemic, and in the midst of chaos, we are still harboring our mental peace. So let’s keep our back straight in our home cubicle and wait for the office reality to heave in sight.
