Bright eyes, lit up;

O, what joy—what flight!

A cake, a teacup;

O, what lies—what fright!

Bold arguments, strong convictions;

O, what sorrow—what plight!

A gossamer black robe, slamming executions;

O, what might—what pride!

Bang! A gavel, no jury foretold;

O, what surety—what willful morale!

An actor renowned, white wig landing the role;

O, what skill—what greed could never foil!

Breathing heavily, a pile of money;

O, what fury—what a saint!

A call to law, all must obey;

O, what justice—what blood like paint!

Brim-filled, dreamful role enacted;

O, what respect—what love for the lady beheld!
