Ode to My Terrace

A meadow of greens and beautiful blossoms,

Can't compare to the comfort of your emptiness.

Your lap, which runs hot and cold

As the day passes by,

Offers a silent symphony to my ailing heart.

Whenever I wander off, lost and lonely,

Your plain beauty engulfs my sorrow

and paints them with vivid colours.

Like a parched wanderer longing for water,

My feet wander off to you seeking solace

The horizons that spread beyond your walls

Has held my darkest secrets,

Your firm body has wrapped my aching heart,

Soaked in my falling tears,

Endured my burning rage,

And adored my childlike smile,

Danced with me in rains,

Sang thousands of melodies,

Sweet, sour, and sultry.

More than any diaries or notes,

You have composed the pages of my life,

Oh! So lovely, yet so lonely,

My dear hideaway and my beloved confidant.
