Now Goodbye

After we met for the first time,

I always knew we’d do it for the last time

Sooner or later.

Although I haven’t stopped

Enough to think about it.

I was afraid, truly I am still.

I was alright before you,

How much of me can you take-

With you when you leave?

I’ll get the time to renew myself, wont I?

I didn’t think of being alright after you,

Because I didn’t think of anything after you.

But now I do as I remember who you are.

You never took, you always gave.

Are you feeling the same?

Have you never thought of farewell?

Are you worried like me?

For the first time,

I don’t know what you are thinking.

I never walked alone,

But now we’re splitting paths,

How am I going to tell all of my-

Stories to you ever again?

The future is going to be arduous.

The path we walked-

Smiles at us from behind.

The castles we built, and-

The walls we broke looks ahead at us-

And we at the separate paths welcoming us.

What we should wish-

Each other is a farewell.

Tomorrow will be different

Without you but still I-

Wish you a good bye.

We are on our feet,

We haven’t crashed, no-

Regrets left back to bruise us.

When you move on,

Without me by your side,

I wish you a good bye.

Wishing farewell doesn’t mean

We’re leaving each other.

I will be there for you,

Always, like you to me.

But now, we are off to

Either poles of the world.

You back to the Sun and-

I to the Moon.

I back to the shore, and-

You to the sea.

We will be alright,

Just by ourselves.

That’s how we are raised,

We wrote our own story.

We prepared each other

For the farewell, from the-

Very beginning even

Without realizing.

We will be alright.

Alone but never lonely.

Even after years, even-

When my memory will be-

Grazed by the fragile-

Finger tips of old age,

You will remain in my heart as a

Comforting warmth.

Whenever I feel lonely,

I will think of you, and-

The memories you gifted us,

Will heal me, so now-

Goodbye.

This feeling is not soothing,

It ain’t easy.

The words feel unnatural-

As they come out of my mind,

They look so strange being-

Written on the paper.

There are no way we can-

Make this parting happy.

There are no way we can-

Say goodbye

Without tasting tears.

But we have to be courageous

For ourselves, now-

Don’t let it fall apart,

The world couldn’t break us,

We made it to the end alive.

Say it,

We will be alright.

Wish it,

A good bye.

Aren’t we still too young?

Don’t we have a little more time?

Can’t we be together for a bit more?

Don’t let me say any of it.

Don’t let the bridge fall down now.

A happy ending is what we aforethought.

Aren’t we still---?

As I walk away slowly,

I plead my body not to turn back,

Don’t look at me, keep your gaze on your path,

Don’t watch me walk away.

With every step I take forward,

Is the feeling that lingers within regret?

Or is it fear?

My heart breaking a little by little,

Tears falling one by one.

Don’t look back even when-

Pain thrusts through,

We will be alright,

This is a happy ending.

I will greet you when, I meet you again,

There will be a time.

I can almost see it,

Everything is just the same between us.

We separate as ourselves,

This is a good bye.

It is a blessing that we-

Treated each other right.

We cherished each moment, and-

Treasured every second.

It is a grace as when we look back,

There are no regrets, our memories-

Can never haunt us, they will shelter us,

So, now goodbye.

Now, hold my pinky finger

Like the old times,

Till we meet again,

Promise we’ll be safe.

We’ll be alright.

Now farewell, my everything-

This is a good bye.
