Not Many, Not Two, But One

By Ghan Shyam B Pai

The last lovers of the world wandered the planet's surface, talking in a language only they could understand. The last drops of the shallow water streams were about to be taken away by the eternal source of light as though they were being transported to another world. Even when the last green signs of the jungles got brown, the mates never stopped moving ahead. They walked ahead into their fiery future, even when they knew they would not live long, but the bond of their hearts was strong enough for their body to forget the senses. And in the end, came down the inevitable, that detached their bodies and fused their souls. Thus it came true what the old masters said, that it was not many, not two, but one!
