Nostalgic

By Shreya

Where would I be,

When I remember this moment

This scent today, a bridge to two years past

Me just walking by a tree, alone and happy

This music swells, a memory from four years gone

I’m in the library, bopping along, lost in a world of my own

And this wind, cold and soothing

It carries whispers of that familiar day

Of me walking side by side by you,

though not for the first time

Of us, the stars, and the comfortable silence

It’s strange how our first encounter has faded away

I wonder if I’ll get nostalgic about today someday?

How much will I forget, how much will I remember

I wish I could capture all of it, the moon, the tree, the tranquil

But who knows where I’ll be

When this memory thrives?
